NetSplit ("we", "our", or "us") is a productivity utility designed to help users manage and coordinate shared access credentials within private groups. This Privacy Policy details our rigorous standards for data protection and our transparent use of restricted permissions.
1. Purpose-Limited Data Processing
NetSplit requests specific permissions to interact with email data. This access is strictly limited to the following functional requirement:
Automated Verification Retrieval: To enhance user experience, NetSplit programmatically identifies and extracts temporary alphanumeric verification codes or authentication hyperlinks sent by third-party service providers to the user-designated shared account.
- Minimalism: Only emails originating from automated service systems related to account verification are processed. Personal correspondence is never read, stored, or indexed.
- Ephemeral Processing: Extracted codes are processed in real-time to facilitate group access and are not stored permanently on our servers beyond their functional lifespan.
2. Data Security and Encryption
We implement advanced security measures to protect user information:
- Encryption at Rest: All sensitive identifiers, including service-linked emails, access PINs, and authentication tokens, are stored in Google Cloud Firestore using AES encryption.
- Encryption in Transit: Data exchange between the mobile application and our backend infrastructure is exclusively performed via HTTPS (TLS 1.2+).
- Tokenization: Authentication is managed via Firebase Auth, ensuring that your primary credentials remain secure and isolated.
3. Restricted Scopes Compliance
NetSplit complies with the Google Play "Limited Use" requirements. We do not use information obtained through restricted scopes for advertising, retailing, or any purpose other than providing and improving the core features of the application.
4. Account Autonomy and Data Deletion
Users maintain full sovereignty over their data. NetSplit provides a direct, in-app mechanism for total account liquidation. Upon selecting "Delete Group":
- The user's authentication profile is revoked.
- All group records, encrypted service credentials, and active tokens are permanently purged from our database.
- Any granted OAuth permissions are disconnected.
5. Advertising and Analytics
- AdMob: Displays native advertisements. This service may use device identifiers for frequency capping and attribution.
- Firebase Analytics: Collects anonymized performance metrics to ensure application stability across different device architectures.
